When people come to me they never really know what to expect; they see the treadmill, X trainer and bike and think they spend hours on that. No deal.
I want you lifting, to make your body and muscles move. To start putting excess stress on your muscles so your body adapts, wakes up the muscle and start burning some calories.
I like exercise that make the big muscles work and my most utilised exercise is the deadlift. If you want to shed the lbs. start with this one. Just make sure you have time for a nap afterwards – it’s been known to wipe some people out!
Secondly you have to bring in the squat. For both men and women it’s a fantastic calorie burner. A few sets under a heavy bar and you will break into a sweat.
Next exercise is a pull up. If you don’t like the sound of being able to fling yourself in the air, I just don’t know what you are doing with your life. Shape the back, break a sweat, burn some kcals. All round winner.
The last exercise is a bicep curl, I joke. If you want to shift some calories stop wasting time. Hit some hard movements. My last exercise for fat loss is Burpees. Fitness isn’t all about broccoli, chicken and Burpees as Paul Mort often reminds us. But sometimes they help.
